Announcing our Webinar Series: Keystone Data Tools for Native Land Planning

Share this post:

The Native Lands Advocacy Project (NLAP) is hosting a webinar series on three of our key data tools. Join these 45-minute webinars to learn about our Agriculture on Native Lands dashboard, Land Cover dashboard and map, and Cropland Data Layer dashboard! These free, public data tools are not only powerful for tribal planning on their own, but they also can be used to perform deep, multi-layered analyses of Native land, agriculture, and climate concerns. Many of NLAP’s more specialized data tools—such as our Lost Agriculture Revenue Database—use these datasets as building blocks, which is why we’ve chosen to call them our keystone data tools.

This webinar series will teach users about the data sources (what they represent, different use cases, and potential limitations), then walk attendees through navigating the dashboards and maps to access the data their communities need. Each webinar will have time for Q&As at the end. If you’re interested but unable to attend, you can still register below & we’ll send you the recording!

Webinar 3: What’s Growing on US Native Lands?

Data from the USDA Cropland Data Layer

Learn what crops are growing on your lands & view crop trends over time. The CDL has been used in hundreds of studies on a range of topics from agriculture productivity, crop variability, impacts of climate change, climate resiliency studies, estimates of carrying capacity, etc. NLAP’s dashboard makes it easy for tribes to access the data for their own land, agriculture, and climate planning purposes.
