Help contextualize the data housed on the Native Land Information System by creating compelling content.

Call for Submissions

The Native Land Information System hosts data to support indigenous natural resource stewardship, environmental justice, food sovereignty, Native agriculture, Native climate resiliency, and other Native land issues. The NLIS welcomes submissions of articles and/or data visualizations related to these topics for publication on our blog.

Individuals skilled in writing, data journalism, data visualization, or mapping are invited to pitch us an idea below. An understanding of contemporary Native American issues is required, and your idea must somehow involve data from the NLIS repository. We pay competitive rates depending on experience, topic, and word count.

KEEP OVER 120 RESOURCES FREE FOR NATIVE NATIONS

Tribes in the U.S. have always faced obstacles accessing data about their lands. Now, public data erasure magnifies these existing challenges.

More than ever, NLAP needs your support to continue serving Indian Country. Your donation helps our team keep our data tools free & supports our ongoing partnerships, grassroots engagement, and development of new resources!
